WOMEN'S DIVISION 1 NORTH

Welcome to the home of the Coventry Phoenix Women's Ice Hockey Club. The club was started by 6 girls who decided that the area needed women's hockey. In the 5-6 years of the teams existence they have grown in stature and ability withstanding the demands of being a minority within a minority sport. The clubs regular membership fluctuates with younger members moving on to University  or new careers but it continues to survive and offers a place for Women's Hockey in the City.

The club is a member of the English Ice Hockey Association, and is governed by it's rules.

Insurance and membership to the EIHA is by annual subscription payable through the club.

The Coventry Phoenix Women's Ice Hockey Club has always been committed to promoting Women's Ice Hockey in general, and particularly within the Coventry area.

Its aim is to enable women who, regardless of age or ability the chance to try out in a friendly and supportive atmosphere, culminating in playing competitive hockey

The Coventry Phoenix is extending an invite to anyone who wishes to take up, or return to hockey. You need to be a competent skater in order to keep up with the training but we can assess you initially in order to determine this.

If your an ex-hockey player you may think your a little rusty but lets face it, its just like riding a bike.......

Women's Hockey is a senior league and all players must be 16 to play in  games.

Under 16's can and do train with the Women's Senior team however they cannot be involved in competitive games. We still look for younger girls to train and prepare for their 16th birthdays when they can then play in full competitive events.

SO COME ON GIVE IT A GO

after all

'Men invented Hockey but Women Perfected It'
